Revelation 14, The Wheat Harvest

Revelation 14:14-16

Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. Revelation 14:14.

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire. Matthew 3:12

Jesus the Son of Man is looking down on the planet where the fields are white for harvest. He’s now wearing a crown. The cloud is his chariot. In Psalm 104:3 the Lord makes the clouds his chariot and he rides on the wings of the wind.

He’s just been crowned at the throne of God;  “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.

He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.” Daniel 7:13-14

The temple of God is now open.

The temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.

Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Revelation 11:15-19

And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”  So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped. Revelation 14:15

The first time Jesus came it was quietly as a thief, but not this time. Now the whole world is going to see Him.

It was written in Matthew 24:29-31 that immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Resurrection

The dead will hear his voice; Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice  and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.” John 5:24-30

Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left.  Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.

In the blink of an eye, men will be changed; Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—  in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. 1 Corinthians 15:51

The resurrection is the mystery of God alluded to by the archangel in Revelation 10:7 and now it’s finished, as he swore at the sounding of the seventh angel it would be.

Revelation 7, The Great Multitude in White Robes

And here is the harvest;

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”

Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”

I answered, “Sir, you know.”

And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Revelation 7:9-17

This part is from my book;

The multitude arrived together, speaking in languages from all parts of the globe. Strangely everyone understood each other, finding they could commune together with God and the Lamb. The curse of Babel had gone.

The multitude were in front of the throne on a large area called ‘the Sea,’ waving fronds of branches. It was like a Victory Day celebration.

Tears of joy streamed down their faces. These souls had been through unimaginable horror. They were given into the power of the Antichrist and tortured or killed when caught.

They suffered hunger and thirst and were struck by blistering sun and heat. They have suffered terrible persecution and endured unbelievable judgements that increased in size and scale until they were terrifying and global. Now their ordeal is over. Some sang, some danced, some jumped up and down to show their inexpressible happiness.

The Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Notes

Daniel 7 ties in with the blowing of the seventh trumpet in Revelation 11:15.

Here is a parable Jesus told about the harvest: Mark 4:26-29

Here’s a hidden gem, Psalm 67 which celebrates the harvest of the earth to the ends of the earth and God’s righteous governance of the nations. In Hebrew, the psalm has forty-nine words, one for each day of Shavuot, the wheat harvest. That’s seven times seven.

The timing

Will the harvest be unexpected? Not for the ones at the end of the Tribulation. It’s different at mid-Tribulation where Jesus said the earth would be taken by surprise by His coming, just as it was taken by surprise by the flood of Noah.

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.  But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.  For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,  and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left.  Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.  Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. Matthew 24:36-44

The Confusion

In the Book of Revelation God has used one narrative to explain two scenarios and you have to contrast the scenarios. Remember God is speaking to three groups: the Jews, the Church, and the Tribulation saints so perhaps that’s why it was done this way.

But God has also been very clear about the time periods – expressing them in three different ways; 1260 days – 42 months – and a time, times and half a time so people can’t mistake it. It’s a “save the date” for the survivors.

At the end of the Tribulation, people won’t be caught unaware. When the two witnesses are resurrected 1263 days after the Antichrist violates the temple, the harvest will be imminent and the believers are told to watch; “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.” (Matt 24)

Mid-Tribulation

The Apostle Paul wrote; “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labour pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

For the believers at mid-Tribulation there are signs. A significant sign for the Harpazo or Rapture event is the anguish of Israel – the pregnant woman at birth, the dragon and its tail and the words “Peace and safety.”

Israel’s travail is at mid-tribulation when they’re to run for their lives to a place prepared for them in the wilderness for 1260 days.

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,  who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4

Here’s an example of how things get confused. How can Paul tell the Thessalonians the Rapture won’t happen unless the falling away happens first and the Man of Sin is revealed – and then tell the Corinthians the resurrection will happen at the last trumpet?

The trumpets

This verse covers two events; For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 1 Corinthians 15:51-55

There are two kinds of last trumpets;

Yom Teruah, the Feast of Trumpets also has a Last Trumpet. This feast goes by the name ‘the day that no man knows,’ because it depended on the sighting of the new moon by two witnesses.

The Last Trumpet of the Feast of Trumpets is the ‘Tekiah Gedolah,’ a long blast on a ram’s horn known as ‘the Great Shofar.’ This is the ‘blast of hope’, prophesied by Isaiah that will raise the dead from the dust of the earth; But your dead will live, Lord; their bodies will rise—let those who dwell in the dust wake up and shout for joy—your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead. Isaiah 26:19

This trumpet is not to be confused with the Seventh Trumpet of Revelation 11:15 when the Kingdom is proclaimed in Heaven.

The Last Trumpet can mean the Feast of Trumpets and it can also mean the Last Trumpet from the seven Trumpet judgements. Again, the Lord has said one thing to cover two events.

Taking a stand

How essential is it for a nation to know their identity, their DNA, who they are and what they stand for?  What have we been taught about our origins from the academic and scientific establishment?

God says “my people perish for lack of knowledge”, Hosea 4:6.  It’s followed by a solemn warning about the consequences of rejecting knowledge.  Again, he says “people without knowledge will come to ruin.”  In Proverbs he urges us “Whatever you do, get knowledge, get wisdom.”

I’ve just finished reading for the second time a book “After the Flood” by Bill Cooper, an English historian.  This book shows how European history can be traced right back to the flood and the descendants of Japheth, the son of Noah, through contemporary accounts and the table of nations.

The third chapter opens with a quotation from Nennius, a Welsh monk from the 9th Century;  “I Nennius, pupil of the holy Elvodug, have undertaken to write down some extracts that the stupidity of the British cast out; for the scholars of the Island of Britain had no skill … I have therefore made a heap of all that I have found …”‘

Bill Cooper suggested the word Nennius used for stupidity would have been better translated as “complacency” or “lethargy,” the mood of the Britons that followed in the wake of the massacre of the monks at Bangor.

You see, their knowledge had been taken away from them.

“The profound cultural shock of seeing their finest scholars and spiritual leaders massacred by supposedly fellow Christians at the instigation of a Roman Bishop no less, would have left a very deep wound indeed, and it is this state of mind amongst the British or Welsh that Nennius laments and which lead to the neglect and loss of many records and books.”

Christianity was already established in Britain before Rome arrived.  “That Christianity was firmly established in even remote parts of Britain at the close of the second century is shown by Tertullian stating “the Britons in parts inaccessible to the Romans, Christ has truly subdued.”

British Bishops attended the Council of Arles in 314AD, before the Roman Catholic church was formed.  When Augustine went to Britain in 601AD as a representative of Rome, he could not get them to convert.  The Welsh already had the true faith, given to them by the early church, and they did not need any new innovations from Rome.

When the monks refused to accept the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church, he instigated the Saxon army to attack the monastery at Bangor-is-y-coed, killing 1200 monks and scholars.

Much was lost, including the history of the early British kings.  To regain what was lost, I recommend you read the book “After the Flood.”

And now here we are at the end of the age.  Has Britain abandoned its Christian heritage?  Is Britain again in the grip of a culture shock following political correctness and imposed multiculturalism, with the resultant Islamic attacks in its cities?

Dunkirk70th AnniversaryDid you know that in World War 2 the nation, led by its King, prayed?  When Britain stood on the brink of invasion, with 330,000 men trapped on the beach at Dunkirk, King George VI called for an unprecedented week of prayer.  Throughout the country, people prayed on 26 May 1940 for a miraculous delivery.

May 29 was the day of the evacuation of Dunkirk.  We know what happened.  On the 28 May a storm of unprecedented fury grounded the German Luftwaffe – while the English channel became as still as a millpond, despite the storm in Flanders, enabling a vast armada of little ships, big ships, warships, privately owned motor-cruisers from British rivers and estuaries – in fact, almost anything that would float – to get the men off the beach.

The Queen has the title “Defender of the Faith.” Does she defend it?  In 2014 she gave into political correctness, signing into law same-sex marriage, a law that the nation never gave the government a mandate for.  Following that, Britain had a series of storms that were described by the British prime minister as “biblical.”

flooded-crypt-at-winchester-cathedral-2-14

The flooded crypt at Winchester Cathedral, 2014

Who is going to the defend the faith now?  British people, you do have a King … the same King as the Polish people.

Here is Poland the following year.  In November of 2015 Poland marched in the streets and took a stand for Christianity. They declared boldly to the world “here, Jesus Christ is our King!”  It was the biggest march in Poland’s history.  The media were silent.

Is it time for the spirit of the nations to rise, to go to war again through intercessory prayer?

John R. Mott, Nobel Peace Prize winner, said “The Church has not yet touched the fringe of the possibilities of intercessory prayer. Her largest victories will be witnessed when individual Christians everywhere come to recognize their priesthood unto God and day by day give themselves unto prayer.”

Britain, as the sun sets in the west, may you remember who you are.

Who wants to live forever?

Here’s an interesting post from another blog which gives three ways to avoid life’s greatest certainty, death.
Click on the picture on the right and it will take you there.

I don’t think it’s wise to rely on the Tech giants solutions (especially after reading about Microsoft’s latest mishap with ‘Tay,’ their embarrassing AI chatbot.)

No one wants to die, because we were made for eternity.  It’s been set in our hearts.

In Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV) we read “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

But forget about Eternime, where you go virtual, or Cryogenics where you have your head frozen.

Only one man came guaranteeing us immortality.  Jesus said Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”  John 8:51 (NKJ)

So if you want to live forever, believe in the Lord and the one who sent Him (God).  Keeping His word means reading it and storing it up in the heart, where eternity has been set.

I’ve read and stored His word by weaving it into a story, but do whatever works best for you.

Finally, we can’t cheat death here – but we can get a rough idea of how long we’ll live.  Just take this test.  Apparently I’ll make it to 91!

psalm90_12

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.      Psalm 90:12

Having ears to hear

When Jesus wanted to communicate truth, he used stories and said it was “for those who had ears.”  How many of us are deaf to God because of unbelief?  It shuts us down because we can’t believe God would want to have a real conversation with us.  And when we do, we don’t always hear in the same manner – or we doubt what we’re hearing.  We’ll trot out our objections with “Yes, but …”

We have to test the spirits.  Because Lucifer can pretend to be an angel of light.  He is completely deceptive.  Don’t go near him.

My spiritual hearing wasn’t that great.  That’s why I constructed my story, so I could keep a record of the things that God told me and check it against the Bible.  God became the main character in “The Kingdom” through me doing that!

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERAMy husband hears God’s voice differently from me and wants to hear from him better.  He’s a bit goofy at times, as you can see with these ‘ears.’

We spend our day solving technical problems on computers and computer networks.  He has to think on his feet.  Sometimes he arrives at an answer so quickly I go “How did you get that?

He doesn’t know whether his decision speed is from his thought processes or God’s voice.

Early one morning he was thinking about the day ahead. “God, the other day I asked you about my decision speed getting in the way.  Is it my thought processes, or is it you?  I never heard an answer.  So what is it?” he asked.

John 3″ was the instantaneous reply.  In John 3, Jesus was explaining to a religious ruler what people have to do to see the Kingdom of God.  The verses that spoke the most to my husband were 3:8 and 3:29.

“8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

The same month I watched kite surfers on the beach at the end of my street, as they were borne along by invisible wind currents.  It was on a hot Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks ago.  I didn’t even notice the breeze but they were finding it offshore.  It was a beautiful sight to see them glide across the water.

So it is with us when we are born of the Spirit and are able to hear God, the Holy Spirit’s voice.  When we realise we can hear him, we can actually hear God, it brings joy – and hope.  Our morale and spirits soar.

If we hope in the LORD we will renew our strength. We will soar on wings like eagles; we will run and not grow weary, we will walk and not be faint.
That’s a promise from Isaiah 40:31.

The master’s voice

The other verse that spoke to my husband, verse 29, was where John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus exalts the King.  John is comparing himself as the best man at Christ’s wedding.  29″ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.”

I can’t find a picture for that – but look at the joy this dog is showing to hear his master’s voice.  It sums it up for me.

Blessed are the peacemakers

peacemakers

In the sermon on the mount, Jesus said, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”  Matthew 5:9

I asked the Lord what he meant by that on my early morning walk today.

First, he gave me a scripture; God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Jesus, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”  Colossians 1:20.

The Lord explained that he was the first peace maker; and when we become his sons and daughters, we become his peace makers.  He reminded me what I’d done with my mother last year.  We never had a good relationship.  But he saw her differently from me.

Here’s my story about making peace.

Shepherds call

Seven years passed.  Healed from the hurt of the past, Joanna went from strength to strength.  But she still had bad memories from her childhood.

One day her mother grew seriously ill.  Joanna approached the Lord, concerned about her mother’s salvation.

“Father, it’s up to you whether she’ll pull through this time. I forgive my mother for all the abuse she heaped on us. She wasn’t able to be a good mother because she was abandoned at the age of three.

Is her name written in your book, the book of life?  She believes in you – but she doesn’t know you. I want to be able to bring her to you, but I can’t reach her. I can hardly go through the four spiritual laws, or walk her down the Roman road.  Lord, how can I get her to trust you? You promised that if we lack wisdom, we should ask. I’m asking.”

albrecht_schenck_shepherd_call

Shepherd’s Call, by Albrecht Schenck

“I will come to her,” He replied, pointing to a painting that her mother used to have; a vintage 1900’s painting called ‘Shepherd’s call’ which depicted a collie barking for the shepherd after finding a lost lamb in the snow.

“Talk about that painting. Ask her who the dog is barking for, and then bring me in. I want her to know she is the lamb …”

“What a brilliant idea. I’d never have thought of that,” Joann replied, impressed. “But I don’t want religion getting in the way. What should I do if it does?”

The Lord gave her an answer for that.

Later Joanna sat at her mother’s side, alone.

“You know that painting of the dog and the lamb you had?” she began.

“Yes, I gave it away,” her mother replied.

“Yes, you did. Remember that lost lamb?”

“The lamb didn’t have a mother,” her mother recalled.

“Yes, that’s right Mum, she didn’t have a mother,” Joanna replied, sad.

“The Lord said for me to tell you that you are that lamb” she said, as soon as she’d gathered her composure.

Tears came to her mother’s eyes.

“Who was the dog barking for?” Joanna asked.

“The shepherd,” her mother eventually answered.

“Did you know the Lord is the Shepherd?” Joanna replied.

More tears came.

Just as Joanna had foreseen, Joanna’s mother talked about religion.

“Mum, do you know what the Bible says true religion is?” Joanna responded.

Her mother shook her head.

“True religion is to take care of widows and orphans,” Joanna replied, giving the answer the Lord had given her.

“I’m a widow,” her mother said.

“That’s right, you are a widow,” Joanna replied, impressed at the Lord’s answer.

“Who is the Lord to you?” Joanna cautiously asked, feeling like the Collie.

Her mother was silent.

“Are you afraid of death?” Joanna asked.

“Yes, I’m afraid of the devil – I don’t want to see him,” she replied.

Joanna introduced the Shepherd.

“Mum, Jesus tends his flock like a shepherd. He looks for lost lambs and he saves them. He wants to carry you in his arms, close to his heart,” she added.

“Who would you like him to be?” she asked, watching her mother’s face.

“My protector,” her mother replied.

“Like a saviour?” Joanna asked.

“Yes,” her mother agreed.

“Do you accept him as your saviour?” Joanna asked.

“Yes,” her mother replied, with childlike faith.

“You are saved,” Joanna told her, relieved to see the lamb now cradled in the Shepherd’s arms.

“Now that you have accepted Jesus as your saviour, you need fear no evil in the Valley of the Shadow of Death. The Lord is your Shepherd, and his rod and staff will comfort you,” Joanna reassured her, remembering her own staff.

That was as much as she could do.

Outside, a piece of rainbow shone out from clouds above the Ruahine mountain range.

That night, her mother sang.

Days of awe

LeoPeople don’t need to be believers to see that the Jewish festivals and calendar days instituted thousands of years ago, are now aligning with the signs in the sky, and major world events.

In my last post I said I’d explain how God is speaking to those who haven’t read the Bible.  One of the ways he is speaking is by using signs in the heavens.  I’m not talking about Astrology. But if I was, I’d point out that Astrology is made up of these two words: Astro meaning “Star” and Logos meaning Jesus Christ, the Word, the Logos of God.

The devil has covered the witness of the stars with occult graffiti, but he can’t forever.  The truth is right there in our night sky, for all to see.  God is using signs in the sun, moon and stars for warning, prophecy and to show that He is in control.

Conjuction of Venus and Jupiter, 1st July 2015

Conjuction of Venus and Jupiter, 1st July 2015

For instance, last month we had the convergence of Jupiter and Venus, near the bright star Regulus, the star of the King, in the constellation of Leo.  The conjunction was right in front of the Lion’s mouth.

This is what the stars in Leo mean (from Bullinger’s ‘Witness of the Stars’);

The brightest star marks the heart of the Lion. Its ancient name is Regulus, which means treading under foot.
The next star, also of the 1st magnitude (in the tip of the tail), is named Denebola, the Judge or Lord who cometh.
The star (in the mane) is called Al Giebha (Arabic), the exaltation.
The star (on the hinder part of the back) is called Zosma, shining forth.

Can you hear the lion roar?

There is a convergence of events happening in September – involving the number 70, the U.N., the Pope, ‘climate chaos’ and a whole lot of other ungodly factors. The year ending on 13th September 2015, is a shmita year and the last year before the Jewish year of Jubilee, also coinciding with the Tetrad of blood moons.  The ‘shmita’ is the 7th year and in Hebrew, it literally means “release”.

First though I’ll start with God’s calendar.  Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets begins at sundown on the 13th September.  It’s the Jewish New Year, and the first of the High Holy Days or “Days of Awe”.  It’s also the 70th Jubilee.

The year of Jubilee happens every 50 years, after 7 lots of 7 Sabbaths (the shmita).  God declared it as a time for debt to be released, the land to have a rest, and for property to return to its original owners.  On the last day of the sixth year, the people of Israel were instructed to perform a releasing of debts (Deuteronomy 15).

This does not just involve Israel.  It’s a pattern God has given the world to follow.  The reason the world is in the state it’s in is that debt does not get released.  The last sabbath of seven years was 2008 – and God spoke to the world by having the stock market crash on September 29, 2008 when the DOW fell 777 points.

For Luciferians, Anno Lucis, the year of light begins and 2015 has been declared as the UN International Year of Light.  It’s also the UN’s 70th Anniversary and the opening of 70th session of the UN general assembly.  CERN will be giving a presentation about High Luminosity.  Also keep an eye on a project they’re doing called “Project AWAKE”.  I don’t understand the physics they’re doing, but I am able to discern occult names and connections.  CERN will be running at full power over this period.

While God is orchestrating signs, Satan is orchestrating events.

The United Nations general assembly climate summit starts on September 23, 2015.  How timely, because in May 2014 the French Foreign Minister warned we had 500 days before “climate chaos”.  What did he mean by that?  Is it going to be something that Cern’s going to do?

The 500 days expires on 24th September, the day the Pope addresses the U.S. congress on his visit to the USA from the 17th to 28th September.  The next day the Pope will address the U.N.   This is the day when the U.N. launches its ‘sustainable development’ agenda for whole world.  How convenient and coincidental is that?

Watch out for this Pope.  How can he reconcile the Vatican’s policy of no birth control with ‘sustainable development’? By the way, ‘sustainable development’ sounds altruistic, but it’s actually a communist buzzword.

The end of the Pope’s visit and the last Tetrad moon occur on the 28th September.  I wonder if he’ll be flying back to Rome with a red blood moon in his window.

The song “Bad Moon Rising” comes to mind.

Bad Moon Arising

full-moon-over-dc

I see the bad moon arising, I see trouble on the way, I see earthquakes and lightnin’, I see bad times today.

The song came out in 1969.  It was inspired by a story about a seven year covenant.  The lyrics are quite prophetic.  This is another way that God speaks; through the prophets of the world.  Fogerty from Creedance Clear Water Revival reportedly wrote that song after watching a film called The Devil and Daniel Webster”.  The film was set in 1840 New Hampshire, where poor, downtrodden farmer Jabez Stone sells his soul to “Mr. Scratch” in return for seven years of luck and prosperity.  ‘Jabez’ means sorrow or trouble.

There’s another song by Greenday called “Wake me up when September ends“.

September is not a time to be asleep.  Actually I think most of us are up and smelling the coffee, or is it sulphur?  It’s something.  I’m not a prophet, but I am a blood hound when it comes to discernment.  We need to have our own project ‘AWAKE’ so we can pray and warn people.  We don’t belong to the night.

We are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.
So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.
For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.  1 Thessalonians 5:5-7

I await the Lord’s coming but I worry about the people who don’t know him yet.  Anyway I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments.

God bless.

The rider on the white horse

Horse-homage

WWI soldiers shown paying homage to their equine partners

In NZ we’ve just observed the centenary of the battle of Gallipoli, where ANZAC troops fought for the British empire.  On Anzac Day I watched the movie “War horse”.   It bought a lump to my throat and made me think of our own horses.  Of the thousands of horses shipped off to war from New Zealand, only a horse called Bess came back.

There were lots of tears by those men over their horses, and I know the Lord understands.

When Jesus returns as the King, he will be on his own warhorse, at the head of his army.

Perhaps God had the war horses in mind when he inspired Job to write about the horse in the earliest book of the Bible;

“Do you give the horse its strength or clothe its neck with a flowing mane?
Do you make it leap like a locust, striking terror with its proud snorting?
It paws fiercely, rejoicing in its strength, and charges into the fray.
It laughs at fear, afraid of nothing; it does not shy away from the sword.
The quiver rattles against its side, along with the flashing spear and lance.
In frenzied excitement it eats up the ground; it cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds.
At the blast of the trumpet it snorts, ‘Aha!’ It catches the scent of battle from afar, the shout of commanders and the battle cry.
Job 39:19-25

Holy to the Lord

There will be horses in the Millennial Kingdom.   You will hear the sound of their bells as they trot, and on their bells will be the inscription “holy to the Lord.” Holy means “whole”.  When Jesus reigns in his kingdom, all will be made whole.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”  Revelation 21:3-4

But be aware that before the second coming, we will be hearing the hoof beats of the first horseman of the Apocalypse – the rider on the white horse who is given a bow and told to conquer.  Just remember – that’s not Jesus. It will be Apollyon (the destroyer) imitating him.

So while the world is going ooooh and aaaahh marvelling over the fake Messiah, remember the warning Jesus gave us in Matthew 24:5;
Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my Name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many. At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time.
“So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.  – Matthew 24:1-26

Jesus will come like a thief in the night for the Church; an event as sudden as lightning.  After that He will return at the end of Tribulation on his white horse, for all to see.

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.  His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.  He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.  Revelation 19:11-13

The ultimate reveal

This is going to wander a bit, but I hope you’ll bear with me.  We’re going to go from clothes, to Chinese characters, to Mount Hermon, and back to clothes.  I promise you it will be interesting.  It’s based on the theme of “light”.

Lately I’ve had to take more of an interest in fashion.  My daughter made me an appointment with a style consultant at the shopping mall where she works.  It was to help me sort out which outfits and colour combinations suit me best.

I’d rather wear clothes that suit me than bow to the current fashion fad, and I hate uncomfortable womens shoes. I grew up on a farm wearing jeans and gumboots.  Now I work in a computer workshop, wearing pants and a monogrammed polo shirt. My daughter on the other hand, works in retail fashion, and has no trouble choosing clothes and shoes.  She was inspired to help women with clothes because of the difficulty I have experienced getting help and advice when shopping.

I was anxious about the consultation beforehand, but I needn’t have worried.  The stylist was really helpful and didn’t judge me.  She was amused at the contrast between me and my girly-girl, fashion-ista daughter.
Me at work - 2014
Here’s a photo of us at work.  My daughter worked for us for three weeks while between jNic at YITSobs.  Here she is with her nail kit, filing her nails at reception!  It was so cliche, but she didn’t care.
While waiting for the stylist I thought about dreams where you are unclothed, or not dressed right.  Have you ever had dreams where you are walking in a public place naked or in pyjamas?  I’ve heard it’s quite common.

It makes me think about Adam and Eve, and their wardrobe malfunction.  Imagine it.  Here’s God walking through the garden, and they’re naked.  Eeek.  The serpent took everything, even the clothes.

chinese character for naked

The Chinese character for naked. Notice the word ‘fruit’ in the character.

Do you think the story is a myth?
Here’s some anthropological proof that the story is based on fact.  Did you know the ancient Chinese script contains the story of Genesis, long before the Bible came to be written?  Here we see the ancient character for fruit.  How on earth did the ancient Chinese associate the word ‘naked’ with fruit?
Here’s a link to a site that shows how the Chinese characters tie in with Genesis:
The Chinese character for LIGHT has MAN in it.  I wonder if Adam and Eve’s garments were garments of light.I know the Lord has a garment of light.  Psalm 104 speaks of his garment, and dimensions.  It is written that the LORD wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent.  Psalm 104:2.
Jesus let three of the disciples see him clothed in light.
Here it is in Matthew 17:Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.”

Mount_Hermon

Mount Hermon dwarfs the remains of the ancient city of Caesarea Philippi (located at the bottom center of the photo).

I believe the mountain the Lord took them up was Mount Hermon.  The reason I think so is because in the previous chapter of the Bible, Matthew 16, Jesus was at Caesarea Philippi, a town at the foot of Mount Hermon.

Caesarea Philippi was the place where Jesus stamped his authority over the gates of Hell after Peter confessed Him as the Messiah.  I wrote about this in my blog post: True confessions at the Gates of Hell.

It’s interesting that the “Hermon Hotel”,  the highest permanently manned UN position in the world, sits on top of Mount Hermon in the buffer zone between Syria and Israel.

In the Book of Enoch, Mount Hermon is the place where the Watcher class of fallen angels descended to Earth. They swore upon the mountain that they would take wives among the daughters of men (Enoch 6).

The mountain or summit, referred to as Saphon in Ugaritic texts, is the place where the palace of Baal is located in a myth about Attar. Source: Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Hermon.  Attar is also known as Ashtar and Ishtar; god of the Morning Star.

So here we have Jesus, the Light of the World, stamping his authority all over Attar, Ashtar or Ishtar as well.  It kind-of puts Jesus’s promise about the Morning Star being given to those who have not learned Satan’s so called deep secrets in a new light, don’t you think?  (Revelation 2:28, Church at Thyatira)

I believe Moses and Elijah may be the two witnesses of Revelation 11, but that’s the subject for another post.  I believe it because of what these two can do.  Elijah was able to bring down fire and cause the rain to stop for 3½ years; and Moses was able to turn water into blood and bring several other plagues upon Egypt. And guess what the two witnesses do?  They will also be able to bring down fire, stop the rain, and cause various plagues for 3½ years,  (Revelation 11:5,6).

Anyway, to get back to clothes – they’re clothed in sackcloth for their earthly mission.  Sackcloth represents debasement, mourning, and/or repentance.

Do you have any white clothes?  Jesus talked about being dressed in white when he wrote to the Church at Sardis in Revelation 3.  This Church has a reputation for being alive, but it’s sound asleep.  Jesus said if it doesn’t wake up, he’ll come upon it like a thief, and they will not know at what time he comes.
(This is not a time to be caught napping.  Jesus expects us to be dressed for work and have our lamps burning.  (Luke 12:35))
Yet he said there are some in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with him dressed in white, for they are worthy. The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white.

How bright will the white be?

 Whiter than white

Seeing in the mirror darkly

Cern Collider imageAfter discovering the Higgs Boson particle, the “God particle”, the physicists at Cern want to find dark matter.  Is dark matter mentioned in the Bible?

Here’s a verse that hints of the dark matter;  “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”  Hebrews 11:3 (KJV).

How does that work?  Even through faith, we have a hard time understanding just what God did when He made the universe through Jesus.  We’ve had bad science – for centuries.

When I first started reading the Bible I used to skip over Genesis because it was at odds with science.  I felt I couldn’t take God at His word.  I had doubts about science too.  On the highest hill on our farm, I’d dig sea shells out of an exposed cliff – and they were exactly the same as the ones on the beach.  “How can that be?” I’d ask myself.  Clearly they weren’t 65 million years old.

I approached everything about the world’s beginnings with distrust, until the day I read a book by a couple of scientists explaining Genesis; “The Genesis Flood”.  The authors answered all the nagging questions I’d been left with.  I read Genesis after I finished that book, and then of course I had more questions … like why did God create the vegetation BEFORE the Sun?

Non believers could seize on that alone as a reason not to believe Genesis.  So I asked God why He did it that way, and through various Bible passages, He showed me I could take Him at His Word.

earth

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

It’s all about “THE WORD”.

For the first three days, the Lord provided the light for the world.  When He said “I AM the Light of the World” (John 8:12), He wasn’t kidding.

God created by speaking.  He created using light.  When He said “Let there be light”; the Light appeared – the firstborn over all creation. (Colossians 1).  And the light was good.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not understood it.  John 1:1

The Light was with God from Day One.  Can you imagine the glory of the sunset and sunrise of the first three days, when the Son ruled the day and the night?  Can you see the plants and trees created on the third day growing in the light, sustained by the Son who is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being?  Can you see the tree of knowledge and the tree of life grow in the light of the creator and bring forth their fruit?

Time didn’t kick in until Day Four when the Sun, Moon and stars were made.  That would explain why the metamorphic rocks appear to be ageless.  I’m not talking about the more recent sedimentary layers that are full of fossils from Noah’s flood.

Why can’t Science at least consider this?  The Bible says unbeliever’s minds have been blinded by the god of this age.  The god of this age would be the horned god of the underworld.  His Celtic name is Cernunnos – Cern for short.

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.  2 Corinthians 4:4.

Dark matter isn’t ‘dark’, it’s just invisible.  In Isaiah 5:21 it says; “Woe to those who put darkness for light and light for darkness.  Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.”

It’s the glass or the mirror that we’re looking through that’s dark; “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”  1 Corinthians 13:12.

In all the noise and obfuscation of science, will you hear Him speak?

2 Corinthians 4-4

The year of light?

S.B. Sunrise

Sunrise from the beach at the end of my street.

I go for an early morning walk during the week, along the beach at the end of my street.  It’s getting dark now, but the sunrises are so beautiful.  Did you know that NZ is the first country in the world to get the sunrise?  Here’s a photo from last month at dawn.

While walking I told the Lord I wanted to blog something about Him before Easter, and I asked what He wanted.  I felt He wanted me to blog about Him being “the Light of the World.”  I stopped at the end of the path and stretched out my arms to the sunrise, agreeing that He was indeed the light of the world.

I prayed the word from Isaiah 50:4; “Sovereign LORD, give me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. Waken me morning by morning, waken my ear to listen like one being taught.”

Have you heard that ‘listen’ and ‘silent’ have the same letters?  I listened in the silence.  It was in this beautiful spot that I got something jarring.  The thought came to check out what was happening with the Hadron Collider!  It was a strange thought.  I am not interested in physics, except for the stuff I had to learn for my industry qualifications in Information Technology.  I know they found “the God particle”, but so what?  I already know that all things hold together because of Jesus;

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.  Colossians 1:17.

The apostle Paul explained to the pagans at Athens that “in him we live and move and have our being”;

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.  And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.  From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.  God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.  ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’  As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.””

Anyway, after doing some research on Cern, I found I’d dismissed the discovery of the God particle too lightly …

1-Hadron-Collider-StargateCERN – blinded by the light.

They’ve just reopened the Hadron Collider after two years.  It’s going to restart today, 22 March 2015 – despite warnings from top scientists such as Stephen Hawking and Neil de Grasse Tyson.

The arrogance of the physicists is breathtaking.  This level of science is the definition of atheism – for some of the physicists like the inventor of the Higgs Boson.  For others, this is where the New Age meets Physics.  Cern is a constituent of Cernunnos—the Celtic horned god of the underworld.  They have a statue of Shiva the destroyer outside the Hadron Collider.  The name for the destroyer in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek it is Apollyon.  See Revelation 9, the fifth trumpet – where a fallen star is given the key to the shaft of the Abyss and demonic beings belonging to the destroyer come out.

Cern is located near the French village of Saint-Genis-Pouilly.  In Roman times it was called Apolliacum.  The town and temple were dedicated to Apollyon.

What a rabbit hole.   If you want to read more, there are many fine blogs that have done the job that the news media hasn’t.  Here’s one with a few YouTube links: https://patinthehat00.wordpress.com/tag/cern/

I don’t want to focus on the devil – and I’m not saying this is the fifth trumpet.  The Tribulation hasn’t started yet, but something’s up.  This may be the technology that the destroyer uses.  If I do have to mention the destroyer, I want it to be in relation to Jesus stamping his authority all over him.  But we need to pay attention, because what they discover at Cern will have as much of an impact as the World Wide Web, which was also created at Cern.

I have found out that the UN have declared this year “the Year of Light”.  So it’s a good time to be blogging about Jesus, who called himself “The Light of the World.”  He will be the subject of my next blog post.
