God’s promises, how to get them, hold on to them, and believe them

Logos and RhemaThe Bible is God breathed, double edged and speaks in two ways.

One thing God has spoken,
    two things I have heard … ” Psalm 62:11

First there is the LOGOS word, which is for general application.  There is history, allegory, prophecy, and wisdom.  The LOGOS word must be read on context, for us to understand what God us saying.

Secondly there is the RHEMA word.  It comes from meditation upon the word of God.  This is for personal application, where the Holy Spirit will speak directly to you, and it will bring revelation.  It’s like food.  If you are not partaking of God’s Word, you won’t receive revelation or nourish your spirit.

In the next chapter of the Kingdom, I’d had a Rhema word, which seemed not to be true.  I was getting really cranky with God over it.  God is not the author of confusion.  He told me he couldn’t lie, and He was waiting for His word to be fulfilled.  I just had to wait, and trust Him.

How do we know the difference between a Rhema Word and wishful thinking?  A Rhema Word will get confirmed, and God will bring it about in your life – if you believe in God’s word and don’t thwart His will.

Every promise
