A Christmas message

On December 24th, 1968, Apollo 8 made its final pass around the moon and the crew, in turn, sent home this Christmas message:

In the beginning God …

As well as this awesome Christmas message, Apollo 8 also gave the world the most influential environmental photograph ever taken.  It was called “Earthrise”.

Looking at the Earth, the miracle of it all is the one who created this beautiful blue planet came to us as a baby.

Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, described Jesus as
“the rising sun come to us from heaven
to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
– Zechariah’s Song, paraphrased from Luke 1:76-69

May his light shine on you this Christmas.

But for you who revere my name, the sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in its rays.  Malachi 4:2 (NIV)

Happy Christmas to all of you on this good Earth.

  2. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice Philippians 4:4
Hanukkah bears an example of the Messiah called the Sham-ash that lights all others on the Menorah reminding those of us that Jesus is this true Messiah – (the promised one)
He is the “for-ever ruler” promised to Mary in Luke 1:33 as she listened in awe to these words spoken of events to happen to her in her personal future. She replied, “be it done unto me according to your word.” vs 38. We can look back in time and it doesn’t afford the same awe. I suggest we look forward as Mary did – repeating her words. “Be it done unto me according to your word.” Stand and watch the promises of God continue to unfold. God is indeed doing a new thing and “fear not” is the final word I will leave with you as any pressure makes us a worthy bride for the King.

    • Thanks for your comment and visit to my blog. Are you a Messianic Jew? I wish you a very happy Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our for-ever ruler. I like that title for Jesus by the way.
      God bless, Jo.
