Feeling insignificant?

sea-of-facesDo you feel small and insignificant to God? Just a face in the crowd? Lost in the big picture?

Go to this site, place your computer’s cursor in the mass of people and double-click a  couple of times. Scary sharp!!  Not so easy to hide in a crowd anymore.

This was from an email sent to me by my Aunt.  The picture was taken with a 70,000 x 30,000-pixel camera  (2100 Mega  Pixels.)  These cameras are not sold to the public and are being  installed in strategic locations. The camera can identify a face among a multitude of people.

If the camera technology we’ve now got can pick you out of a crowd, how much more can God?

Did you know God saw you and wrote about you before you were even conceived?  It’s there in Psalm 139, and it says that God’s thoughts outnumber the grains of sand.

I’ll leave you with one of my favourite songs by Kutless, Sea of Faces.  Enjoy, and remember that as far as God’s concerned, you’re to die for.

“I see the city lights all around me
Everyone’s obscure
Ten million people each with their problems
Why should anyone care
And in Your eyes I can see
I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a Sea of Faces
Your body’s the bread, Your blood is the wine
Because you traded Your life for mine
Sometimes my life it feels so trivial
Immersed in the greatness of space
Yet somehow you still find the time for me
It’s then You show me Your love
And In Your eyes I can see
And in Your arms I will be
I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a Sea of Faces
Your body’s the bread, Your blood is the wine
Because you traded Your life for mine
If only my one heart
Was all you’d gain from all it cost
Well I know you would have still been a man
With a reason
To willingly offer your life
I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a Sea of Faces
Your body’s the bread, Your blood is the wine
Because you traded Your life for mine
Just one in a million faces” – Kutless

Flying blind?

777Come fly with me.  I have a clip below called “This is why we fly” – featuring the song “Paradise” by Coldplay.

It shows the view from the cockpit of a plane flying over the Southern Alps, coming into Queenstown NZ.

Above the clouds, the Morning Star can be seen.  The Morning Star reminds me of Jesus, who said of Himself;
“I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright Morning Star.” Revelation 22:16

The Maori name for New Zealand is ‘Aotearoa’, meaning “land of the long white cloud”.

Winter view over Queenstown from Bob's Peak

Queenstown, NZ

Feeling under a cloud?
The plane dives into the long white cloud on it’s approach to Queenstown.  Now all we can see is dense cloud.  Surrounded by unseen mountains, it’s time for faith.

Flying blind?
Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.
Isaiah 50:10

Jesus is like the pilot, and God is like the control tower.

When you can’t see where you are going it’s best to respect the terrain and hand yourself over to the Lord’s guidance.  Respect Him, trust Him and do what He says.

Above the clouds, the morning star shines its light as the sun touches the mountain peaks.  It hasn’t gone away.

In the midst of the clouds, contact is established with air traffic control.

Flying heavy?

‘Life goes on It gets so heavy
The wheel breaks the butterfly
Every tear, a waterfall
In the night, the stormy night
She closed her eyes
In the night, the stormy night
Away she’d fly’
– Paradise, by Coldplay.

The term Heavy is applied to all radio transmissions with air traffic control from aircraft capable of take-off weights of 300,000 pounds or more.

God knows the weight you are carrying.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

Here's the clip "This is why we fly". Enjoy.

Paradise

New Zealand is like Paradise, but pales in comparison to Heaven.  Do you know that Paradise is still there, with the tree of life?  Jesus has made the way home to God for all lost children of Adam who believe Him.  Do you know the way to Paradise?  If you trust Jesus for your eternal life He will get you there.  Jesus promised the thief that put his faith in Him; “Today you will be with me in Paradise.”
Luke 23:43.

To the overcomer Jesus says;
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.  To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.”
Revelation 2:7.

The Eternity man

What were you doing on the eve of the Millenium?  New Zealand, the country I come from, was the first country in the world to count down to the year 2000.  Despite that, I wished I could have been in Sydney for the Millenium.

Chapter 41 Millenium tells the story.  Sydney has a special place in my heart, for me it was a place of refuge, of healing.  It was the place where I first heard words of praise and affirmation.  It tore my heart out to have to leave.  Now I was on the other side of the Tasman, over 2,000 kilometers away, living in small town NZ.  I had to content myself with watching it happen on TV.

Arthur Stace

Arthur Stace writing the word ‘Eternity’ on the streets of Sydney

I saw the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which I used to travel over every day for work, lit up with the word ‘Eternity’.  What did this word mean to the city of Sydney?

There is a King whose throne was established long ago; he is from all eternity.  Psalm 93:2

In 1930, the King saved a drunk called Arthur Stace.  This man could barely write, yet for ever after encountering the Lord, he went and wrote “Eternity” on the streets of Sydney, in beautiful copper plate writing.

Here is his story:

What does the word Eternity mean for you?

Did you know that God has set eternity in the hearts of men?  Have you ever thought about it?

It is written; God has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11

The things I experienced in Sydney I did not get to keep on my arrival back to NZ.  I did not receive the things promised, I only saw them and welcomed them from a distance.  On Earth I am a foreigner and stranger.  If I had been thinking of the country I had left, I would have had the opportunity to return.  Instead I long for a better country – the one where the King has His throne.  He has prepared a city for us there.
Hebrews 11:13-15

Just as the Sydney Harbour bridge provides the way to North Sydney, Jesus’ death provides they way home to the Father, and to a city even more beautiful than Sydney – if we just travel that road.

Eternity by Nathan Tasker – A Sydney Story

Honk honk, the company we keep

In a chapter of my book ‘Pearls to Pigs’ the friend I called “the Minstrel” and I went our separate ways.  I’d gone the extra mile for him, but we reached a crossroads and I chose a different road.

Before leaving the crossroads I gave him the chapters of the Kingdom, where he had appeared in the story.  I always do it for friends I am going to part company with.

Unfortunately he took if for a love story, and we did not part on friendly terms.  He read those chapters to everybody, without context.  I had been a silly goose.

GanderWithPetPigCDSCF3270-725184

I had to learn not to give pearls to pigs.  I nearly stopped writing the Kingdom story at that point, but the main character – the King, wanted me to stick with it.  If you read my story you will see how He led a badly wounded princess to a better place and I believe He wants to use the story for His purposes.

So at this point in my journey, I had suffered harm and needed healthier people to be friends with.  A companion of fools suffers harm, but he who walks with wise grows wise.  Proverbs 13:20

I kept White Flower.  She liked to gossip but had good qualities.  Walking with her was difficult – but in the end, she proved to be true.  Deborah and Kate had joined me, and now we meet the Bright One and his wife Princess Neen, who I found while traveling through a place called ‘the Flatlands.’

They became friends with me, and my friends.  The Bright One and Neen brought in Prince Dom.  My kids brought in “Mara” and her son from across the road.  We were all following the Lord, in a natural, non religious way.

I am glad they got into formation with me.  If I had been a goose I could not have flown on my own.

MOST – The Bridge

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Here is a short story for you, for Easter.  No words are said.  It is a Czech film, a moving story of a father forced to choose between love and duty.  MOST is the Czech word for Bridge.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0345672/

Wise Men Still Seek Him

wisemenTwo millennia ago, wise men set out on a journey to find the King of the Jews.  They knew about the star that would arise in the sign of Virgo, from knowledge given to astrologers by the prophet Daniel when he was in Babylon.

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” Matthew 2

The unseen war

Even as a child I became aware there is a spiritual war raging all around us.  Earth is a battleground, and the children of men are the ones being fought over.  The soul is the command seat of the person.  That’s where Hell attacks.  The good news is there is a King who restores souls and leads us to the right road.
