God’s sign language

Einstein quote, coincidenceWhat do you think about coincidences?  Is it God trying to get our attention?  Or, as Einstein said, “a small miracle where God chooses to remain anonymous?”

I think people often get signs and dismiss them as coincidences.  I don’t dismiss them, you can miss out on a lot when you do that.

Have you experienced God trying to get your attention?  Has He tried to sign to you or speak to you with a word?  To hear, you must have the Word.  Hearing comes from the Word.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

There are two kinds of Words in the Bible, LOGOS for general application and RHEMA for personal application, where the Holy Spirit will speak directly to you, bringing  revelation.

I think hearing with the Rhema word is something that is caught rather than taught.  When I heard people say ‘they heard from the Lord,’ I’d think ‘how?’  In time I caught on after meditating on the Bible.

If you don’t have the Word, you will be deaf and He will sign.

God communicated by sign until I understood the Word.  Now the sign and the Word tend to work together.

Here’s a practical example of a sign working with the Word;
My mother died with a row of sevens accompanying her.  She died at 7pm on the 7th day of the 7th month, aged 77.

The link is here if you want to read more and see the video I made for her.

Coincidence?  Noticing all the sevens, I asked the Lord if it was a sign.  The answer was in the affirmative.  He explained to me that Heaven is a place of rest, and He’d sent the sign wanting to reassure us she was at rest.

From the Word He showed me where Heaven is mentioned as the “seventh-day rest” in the Bible.  The Sabbath day is the seventh day;

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest … Hebrews 4:9

God used signs all the way through the Bible.  It’s standard operating procedure for him.

The sign either precedes or follows the Rhema word.

GUWG-Faith-CompassThe Word is like a compass, the sign is like a landmark, and the discovery is like orienteering, navigating, or tracking.  You have to read and look.

My book is based on how the Lord guided me using His Word, coincidences, visions and dreams, with signs accompanying.

It’s the number one thing I hope to convey to the reader of my book – how to look for God and hear Him.

After His death and resurrection, the Lord worked with the apostles confirming His word with signs.

“And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”  Mark 16:20

He is still doing it today, because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:18

We just need eyes to see and ears to hear.  Matthew 13:15-17

The rhema word

The Bible is called “the Word of God.”  The word is “God breathed,” for it comes from the mouth of God.

Man shall not love by bread aloneGod breathed.

There is the Logos word, and the Rhema word.  The Logos is the entire bible, the whole counsel of God, meant for our spiritual instruction and teaching of doctrine.  Its God’s Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth.  It has a general application.

The Rhema is the confessed word, which is creative and can be a promise, affirmation or command.  It has a specific application.  In Greek, the word Rhema means “an utterance.”  For the believer, its a word that “speaks” from the Bible for personal application.  Its precious and very valuable.  It applies to a current situation, issue or need and is timely.  When we receive it, it is called “a word.”

The Kingdom story chronicles what I heard from the Lord speaking to me through the Rhema word.  I’ve treasured the words of the Lord and constructed the Kingdom as a place to store them.  Some of the things the Lord told me found their fulfillment several years and chapters later.

For example, early in my walk with the Lord I was given a word, which I recorded in The Kingdom – Signs

“Set up road signs;
put up guideposts.
Take note of the highway,
the road that you take.

Return, O Virgin Israel,
return to the town you left.
How long will you wander,
faithless daughter?
The LORD will create a new thing on earth—
a woman will encircle a man.”  Jeremiah 31:21-22

When I received this Rhema word, I was in a bad relationship I needed to leave.  I was now a follower of “the way”, learning about “the truth”, traveling towards “the life.”

I needed guidance in the way I was living, and to know where the Lord wanted me to be.

This word instructed me to mark the road I took, to setup signs and guideposts.  When I noticed a sign or received a word to guide me, I wrote about it in the Kingdom.  The chapters were my guideposts.

The second part of the word about returning to the town I left was in answer to a question I had about my place in the world.  I wanted to return to Sydney but was stuck in a small town in NZ, bringing up two kids on my own.  The word was to “return to the town I left,” but I didn’t know what that meant.  The part about “walking around a man in a circle” had me completely baffled, but I recorded it in my story.  It was to be revealed in the future.

The chapter about the circle began at “the place of the Tower.”
