A great site for Christian authors and readers

harvestHere’s an excellent site, Reality Calling for Christian authors and readers working in the harvest field.

They want to encourage authors to participate in the final harvest as we prepare for the Coming of our King.

They say “it’s a glorious time to be alive and the Lord is looking for authors to help Him save all possible before the Wrath which is to come falls on the Earth.”

They also need and serve readers.  Their vision is to provide resources for Christian authors and readers, focusing on God’s call, the production of anointed materials, and vetted book reviews.

Christian authors and readers are both essential to their effort!

I highly recommend them.  http://radiqx.com/

Books are a brilliant non-threatening way to reach people if it’s quality, redemptive fiction.  So we don’t have to be a writer for this task, just a reader who likes reading and loaning books!

As a writer, their vision matches mine because I write for the sheep without a shepherd.

Lord Of The Harvest

When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
Ask the Lord of the Harvest therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Matthew 9:37-38

Within ancient ink there is a living God

Happy New Year!

Before Christmas I wrote about Jesus being the author and finisher of our faith.

I wrote about his nail scarred hands writing and turning the pages of the Bible, the book he inspired.

The day after I wrote about it, this video clip was played at church;

I like how it says; “Within ancient ink there is a living God.”

The author and finisher; and the race

Did you know the author of the Bible wrote about a race?

Heb12-prv“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,
let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”  Hebrews 12:1

We’ve all got a race to run, a race that we were entered in before we were even born.  Think about that!

Do you know the race is on; and the author has got his eye on you?

It’s no ordinary race. Some of you may be already running. You may be the first in your family line to run, or you may be the last.

Sometimes you will run, sometimes you will walk, sometimes you will stumble and fall, and sometimes, you will rise on the wings of an eagle. Those are the best times, when you can stop running, wing it and see what the eagle sees.

I’ll leave you with this verse for the times when you feel discouraged
“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

I’ve written about my own race in Chapter 79 The year of inheritance, in case you are interested.  I have referred to myself in the chapter as “the Princess”, but I will be changing her to myself in accordance to the advice I got from Publishers. Anyway, here it is;

Putting the author in authority

hebrews-12-2I probably won’t be blogging much over the next few weeks.  I’ve tasked myself with getting my story “The Kingdom” into an e-Book while I’ve got a break from work.  I’ve lost the plot and need a lot of guidance and help from God getting it finished.

When I first wrote this story, it didn’t have a plot. I’d simply kept a rough sort of journal made up of individual chapters where I’d kept a record of my spiritual journey with God.  Then I strung them all together and called it “The Kingdom”.  I got a book report back from some Christian Publishers that said the manuscript needed 51 to 250 hours of structural editing.

They did say; “This is a really awesome story with a fabulous blend of unusual elements. It has the potential to wield a strong and powerful impact if the issues of ‘show don’t tell’ are addressed.”

I’m praying about what to change.  I know the Lord understands because He is an author himself.

I started tidying the story up last week.  On Saturday night I added this paragraph to a chapter called “The Kingdom of God Within”;

“The Author and finisher of faith held to his word, his nail scarred hands turning the pages of his living book, a book that is alive and active.   The words and verses contained his breath, his will for creation.
In order for faith to come, people needed to hear him – and hearing came from his word.”

Hebrews_12-2The Lord must have liked it because His authorship of the Bible was the subject of the sermon the next morning (Sunday 7th Dec).

I found out that author and authority share the same root word.

 When Jesus was on earth, He taught with authority, not as the teachers of the law.  You can read that in Mark chapter 1, and in John chapter 1 you can read that Jesus was the LOGOS, the Word of God.

If you want to find out what something in a book means, you go to the author.  He is the authority.

May you look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.  I sure will be in my attempts at getting the second draft of “The Kingdom” finished.
